TRAINING

Advanced Strength Programming Design – Charles R. Poliquin – Dubai – 2014

This seminar with Strength Coach Charles R. Poliquin has allowed me to bring my skills in regard of program design and especially program individualisation to perfection. His simple but genius approach has put any course attendee ahead in the industry.

I remember during this course Charles saying when he was training olympic athletes to gold medals some other coaches were curious to see his programs for different athletes. They were confused as the programs were completely different. It’s like if they would have been designed by different persons. Every program was totally different from the other.

If you think about it for a second it becomes clear and logical, a Coach should design the program personalised for the athletes, it should have the target in a given time frame, or even exceed it, to achieve the predefined goal. Every body is different and goals may differ too, so why should one program be efficient for all? A good coach would have a sharp eye to assess his trainee or athlete and apply this knowledge while designing in short or long term. If you train with a general program designed for all then do expect general results as you surely won’t see any peak performance from yourself. Be special, have personalised program design!

NUTRITION/ FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE

Modern Trends in Achieving Optimal Body Composition  and Hypertrophy – Charles R. Poliquin –  Stuttgart – 2015

Optimal Body Composition is not only relevant for athletes, except for a Sumo ringer, but in general to every body. An Optimal Body Composition is like a mirror of your health. The less you have adipose fat the more functional you are.

In this course with Coach Charles R. Poliquin we had the pleasure to learn the following:

  • Determining optimal macronutrients ratio.
  • How to set up a system to determine this optimal macro-nutrient regimen that works.
  • Labtest to determine which protein/carb/fats should be used.
  • How to maximise fat loss in the time invested and how to build protocols that can lose the most fat in the minimum amount of time.
  • Body composition improvement techniques.
  • How to prioritise supplementation depending on the goal and physiological need.

The second part of this seminar was dedicated to learning how to achieve maximal hypertrophy. I had the pleasure to learn the following from Coach Charles R. Poliquin:

  • Program Design for Hypertrophy and Models of periodisation which work best for packing on size.
  • Training for maximal muscle gain with demonstrations of hypertrophy building techniques.
  • How to eat for  maximal muscle gains.
  • Optimal Recovery from training loads to accelerate muscle growth.

BioPrint Seminar – Charles R. Poliquin – London – 2015

This is the seminar for next level coaching. In this intense seminar I learnt how to quantify body composition and assess limiting factors which can work against you without knowledge and further how to fix those limiting factors in the shortest time period.

BioPrint is Coach Charles R.Poliquin’s latest innovation in improving body composition rapidly, effectively and safely. The advanced features offered by BioPrint were:

  • A more complete measurement profile which include a total of 14 measurement sites over the body including legs. This is the first and only method to perform this in the industry.
  • The BioPrint software with the integrated algorithm gives advanced information about different profiles as Insulin, Stress, Sleep, Detoxification, Inflammation and Androgen. Those help the practitioner to identify the causes for fat gain.
  • Depending on the priority profile how to correct lifestyle,  diet and supplementation.

MANUAL THERAPY

 KCE – Charles R. Poliquin – Perth/Australia – Mai 2016

KCE – Kinetic Chain Enhancement is a method which combines a number of effective soft tissue techniques to primarily achieve the result of recalibrating muscle/fascia and connective tissue.

Main topics covered are the following:

  • How to restore the function of all of the muscular components
  • How to improve recruitment sequence of the muscle,
  • How to reduce friction/increase the contraction speed  and strength of the muscle
  • How to remove scar tissue and adhesions
  • How to reduce future and rehabilitate long term injuries

Active Release Technique

Active Release Techniques® (ART®) is the gold standard in soft tissue therapies. The inventor, Dr. P. Michael Leahy started Active Release Techniques® over 30 years ago. ART® began when Dr. Leahy was working with elite athletes as a way to treat soft tissue disorders so they could get back to peak performance as quickly as possible.

After an injury the body’s self healing mechanism would build a so called scare tissue out of collagen. This new tissue is more rigid and so vulnerable to more injuries around it. The principle of this ART is to localize the scare tissue and then softening or removing it to give the tissue it’s natural softness and elasticity and so relieve pain, ensure full mobility and avoid re-injury.

  • To provide guidance in the application of this knowledge to the clinic, workplace, rehabilitation centre, and sports field to reduce the risk of injury, optimize healing of the patient, and build ultimate back performance in the athlete.
  • To give practice and technique development with workshops throughout the day.

McGill Method Level 2 – Assessment: Converging on a precise diagnosis

Level 2 has the following objectives:

  • To update delegates on some recent developments in assessing the low back of the most challenging patients.
  • To create linkages to corrective and therapeutic exercises and drills.
  • Develop skills in pain provocation tests to reveal the pain mechanism.
  • To give practice and technique development with workshops at the assessment table throughout the day.

McGill Method Level 3 – High Performance Training: Progressing backs from pain to performance

Level 3 has the following objectives:

  • To update delegates on some recent developments in enhancing performance of formerly pained and injured backs.
